Role of the Kampot-Kep Salt Promotion Association
The Association of Georaphical Indicaition Kampot-kep Salt Products hes the follwing role of the functions.
To prepare the book of specifications of Kampot and Kep salt, and apply for registration of this product under the Law on “Geographical Indications Protection” of the Kingdom of Cambodia.To expand relations and cooperation between producers or processors, market operators, development partners, and other relevant institutions.To disseminate and promote the reputation of Kampot-Kep salt products by improving its quality and preventing counterfeit product(s).To manage the quality of Kampot-Kep salt products.To prepare and implement an internal control system in order to ensure that the quality of Kampot and Kep salt is compliant with the book of specifications, and the product origin.To identify and contract an external certification body.To train and strengthen the capacity of association members on the book of specifications to be able to produce Kampot-Kep salt in accordance with the requirements of the GI.To examine and make the decision on the request for being a member of the Association of Geographical Indication Kampot-Kep Salt Producers, requested by the producers or processors and operators, who wish to use the name of Kampot-Kep salt and the logo of the Association of Geographical Indication Kampot-Kep Salt Producers.To update the book of matter accounting by using data provided by the producers or processors and operators, who produce, purchase, and sell Kampot-Kep salt.To keep the book of matter accounting of producers or processors and operators, who are recognized by the external certification body; and provide information to members, the certification body, and the Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Commerce upon request.To take legal action to prevent counterfeit products.
